The book jacket for “Balancing Heaven and Earth” describes Robert Johnson’s memoir as a candid and profound reflection on Johnson’s 75 years of life and “the wisdom of a lifetime devoted to balancing the inner and the outer, the masculine and the feminine, the eternal and the everyday.” Johnson, a noted lecturer, author, and Jungian analyst, has the particular gift of being able to communicate complex, sometimes obscure, ideas in a way that they become immediately useful to the reader. He is a teacher, a guide, a scholar, and a mystic. Reading his books makes me want to be a better person and makes me feel I can be. What more can you ask?
