The Mermaid and the Minotaur: Sexual Arrangements and Human Malaise

I was delighted to discover that Mermaid and the Minotaur is still in print.  First published in 1977, it revolutionized my thinking about what it means to be a woman, to be human, and to live in this world.   At the time, a time of breakthrough feminist thought, it not only challenged our cultural assumptions, it did so in a scholarly and wholistic way that few of the others managed.  Her thinking is expansive, disciplined, and educated:  her writing is imaginative and poetic.  Reading it again, I am impressed that Mermaid and the Minotaur
is still timely, still relevant, despite tremendous social change since its publication.  Dr. Dinnerstein reminds me again that the personal is always political and vice versa.
